The monument was built between 1876 and 1891. In the alley on the right-hand side of the building a beautiful plaque is visible. The brick in the Nadorststeeg stands for the wrong economy and dates from 1707. The five unique residences above the store have been renovated. The interior of the apartments was provided by interior designer Cris van Amsterdam and Morph Design. The ground and first floors have been transformed into a retail space and have been let to Canadian department store chain Hudson's Bay.
